Porsche 917 at Le Mans

One of my "other " interests besides miniatures is auto racing. I love Formula One and Le Mans. I am not too hot about the modern stuff- it's cool, but the late 60's and 70's was the era. Cars were controlled by humans, not computers. The cars did not have a bunch of wings and things sticking out all over.. They did not have billboards of toilet paper and soap companies painted all over....

Pure skill and horsepower. Cars were cars and men were men. Here is a video of the famous Porsche 917 at Le Mans. 1000+ horsepower. 250 mph. The Mulsanne strraight before the silly chicanes. You may remember the Steve McQueen movie- "Le Mans". Same car. Turn up the sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I32OpYaoX-8

Something we share in common Matt. Although I do like the modern as well, nothing beats the days of drivers truly owning the course. Thanks for the post.
